2.  Design Consultation

We schedule a consultation (Zoom or in person) to review details such as ensemble size, instrumentation, field coverage, and visual priorities.

The drill is created based on your music and visual concepts. FAQs

How long does it take to receive the drill design?

Delivery timelines depend on the length of the show and design complexity, but we work closely with directors to meet rehearsal schedules and deadlines.

What information do you need to get started?

We typically need the music files, ensemble size, instrumentation (estimated numbers early in the process and finalized numbers closer to camp), and any visual concepts or themes for the production.

Can changes be made after the drill is written?

Minor adjustments and clarifications can be discussed during the design process to ensure the drill fits your ensemble effectively.

Do you work with ensembles outside your area?

Yes. We regularly collaborate with ensembles remotely and provide consultations through Zoom when in-person meetings are not possible.

How are materials delivered?

All materials are delivered digitally through Google Drive, allowing directors and staff to easily access, download, and share resources.

Can I view drafts before the final product is delivered?

Yes. Throughout the design process, draft versions of the drill are shared with the director for review and feedback. This allows adjustments to be made and ensures the design aligns with the ensemble’s vision before the final drill, charts, and materials are completed.

What types of ensembles do you write drill for?

We design drill for a wide range of marching and indoor ensembles, including high school and collegiate marching bands, drum and bugle corps, indoor percussion, indoor winds, and indoor color guard. Each design is tailored to the specific ensemble, taking into account group size, skill level, performance space, and overall production goals to create a visually effective and achievable performance.
